We are a ladies dance team based in Taunton and the name Sweet Coppin is taken from a variety of cider apple, our distinctive red and green kit reflects the famous cider orchards of Somerset.

Sweet Coppin's repertoire includes Clog Stepping . . . . . , North West team dances and a collection of dances from around the British Isles which we call "Soft Shoe Dances". In most dances we use sticks . . . . . . . , 'hankies' . . . . or garlands . . . . .

Sweet Coppin practise every week during the winter, and throughout the summer and Christmas we undertake a varied programme of engagements. In the past few years we have performed at many venues such as Sidmouth, Upton Upon Seven, Weymouth, Stroud and Dartmoor Folk Festivals, and in August 2000 at the Puck Fair in Killorglin, Co. Kerry, Ireland, where we won First Prize for Busking Performers. Sweet Coppin also fulfil a busy schedule of fĂȘtes and charity events, and busk out each week in local villages.

We are a friendly team who all share a love of playing music and dancing.
